The Mark Milton Show with The Smash!

Mark Milton (“Milty”)

Mark Milton is a St. Louis-based tax attorney, accountant, and entrepreneur. He grew up in Belleville, Illinois, and migrated west to Missouri after marrying a West County native he met in law school at St. Louis University. Before settling down in the Midwest, “Milty” started his legal career with the U.S. Department of Justice-Tax Division in Washington, DC (begrudgingly as a non-political hire of the Obama Administration), where he litigated complex tax cases in federal courts throughout the country. Milty is also a recovering politician, having failed as the GOP candidate for State Representative in the Kirkwood area in 2016. In 2017, Milty launched his private law practice focused on tax resolution and he prides himself in helping others navigate an ever-increasingly complex legal, regulatory, and tax environment, one he admittedly struggles with himself despite his education and experience. He is also a personal finance guru and a Dave Ramsey disciple, despite ignoring most of his advice when it comes to spending/debt. Above all, Milty loves, and will fight to the death arguing the greatness, of the St. Louis region (the best kept secret in the country), despite being a lifelong Cubs fan (long story). With respect to the launch of his radio career, Milty says, “I think you’ll enjoy the show and learn some stuff.”

Asher Benrubi (“The Smash”)

Asher Benrubi (“The Smash”) started his entertainment career in 1967 as a member of the band, “Frenchie & The Oui-Ouis.” Throughout the 1970s, his band “Roadmaster” toured and performed with REO Speedwagon, Bob Seger, Average White Band, Cheap Trick, Rush, Yes, Edgar Winter, BTO and more!

The Smash started his radio career in 1977, working for some of America’s greatest stations in Indianapolis, Washington, D.C. and St. Louis, even once filling in for Robin for a week on the Howard Stern Show. As a VJ (Video Jock) on MTV, his “Headbangers Ball” interview with “Guns n Roses,” and the aftermath where they proceeded to tear down the studio, has been designated one of “The Top 40 Greatest Moments In MTV History,” according to Rolling Stone Magazine.

Through his early days at KSHE-95, “Smash Around Town” on Fox 2 News, and his “Smash Band” performances, Smash has spent more than 30 years entertaining St. Louisans.

In recognition of his more than 30 years of community service, on January 29, 2016, St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay proclaimed that day “Asher Benrubi/Smash Day” in the Gateway City.

A troubled taxpayer himself due to circumstances beyond his control, Smash and Milty crossed paths at a Subway. Smash noticed Milty’s STLTaxLawyer logo-wrapped F-150 in the parking lot, introduced himself, and a friendship/radio show was born.
